Longwater Tai Chi - Drop-In Classes

Come and try out some Tai Chi and Chi Gung without having to commit to weekly attendance at our regular classes. The first attendance is free when you pre-register; thereafter you just pay a £5 drop-in charge whenever you come.

Before starting to learn the movements that make up a tai chi form, students need to learn some foundations. These include learning to still the mind and listen to the body – ‘to become present’; learning how stay grounded; how to identify and release tension; retain steady balance while shifting weight smoothly; how to move the body and gain flexibility. Students also learn how to feel ‘chi’, the subtle life-force energy, so they can work with this in their own practice. Some simple chi-gung (subtle energy work) exercises are also taught.
