What does the current outbreak mean to our school?
In line with the latest Coronavirus government update and the request too 'avoid all non-essential social contact’, and limit travel to essential trips, we think it's imperative that we play our part in doing all we can too help control and delay the spread of the virus and hopefully minimise its impact on everyone’s health.
So regretfully, we have now cancelled all our weekly classes until April 30th 2020, when we will again review the situation and decide how to proceed. The website will show our standard schedule in the first week of May - but this primarily to remind you of where we normally teach, and allow you to register your interest for when classes start again. No charge will be made when you register. Workshops during March and April have been postponed with tentative dates in late June to July, and we will email those who have already registered separately.
As you know, keeping yourself fit and healthy with tai chi and qigong can help maintain and improve your wellbeing and may help to improve your immune system - but you still have to look after yourself in your 'normal' every day life too. Look out for our planned “Stay Connected!” video service, coming soon.
So stay calm, stay healthy, be helpful to those in need, and we wish you well in the coming difficult times we all face.

As you know, keeping yourself fit and healthy with tai chi and qigong can help maintain and improve your wellbeing and may help to improve your immune system - but you still have to look after yourself in your 'normal' every day life. There are plenty of videos online of hospital workers in China currently practising various health qigongs and tai chi at work, wearing their masks and protective clothing. They are using these health exercises to maintain their wellness and energy levels, as has been done in China for millennia.
We have been considering ways in which to help our students stay as healthy as possible and what we can offer if our venues or classes have to be closed or people stop attending classes. We are planning a series of very affordable pay-as-you-go internet video lessons with us, in the form of a simple click-on-link from an email to a private YouTube video of the moves you are familiar with doing with us, teaching some components in a little more detail, and running through the set, to keep continuity with your weekly and daily practice and help you maintain good health. We already teach 1:1 video lessons with people around the world, which work well and we could expand on that too. A free sample lesson of what we are planning will be available soon.
Unless you hear otherwise, our classes and workshops will be continuing as normal, just keep an eye on email communications, and also our website and Facebook pages. The situation may change quite rapidly, as we see from global news.
Stay safe and healthy and keep practising!
